There are many areas of volunteer opportunities at Skylands, the largest and most active is that of gardening volunteers.
Other volunteer activities include:
- record entry
- file and library maintenance
- development of educational programs and materials
- grant writing and fund raising
- Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping
- graphic arts
…and many areas of visitor interaction including seasonal public events, such as the Harvest Fest and the ever popular Holiday Open House!
Volunteers who are interested in working in an area in which they are not experienced will receive training whenever possible. We provide training for all tour guides, including manor docents, gardens, wildflower, and family woodland hike leaders.
There are weekend gardening opportunities on Sundays during the gardening season. Weekend garden volunteers meet on Sundays at the Carriage House starting from 9 AM to 12 PM. Please note that it is an Association rule that, for safety reasons, volunteers never work alone.
